Food: a Sydney weekend

31 May

We’re driving to Sydney tomorrow for the weekend – and cannot wait! I’ve already arranged the weekend completely around where we’re going to eat, where we’ll have drinks with friends, what sales are on etc. Poor Mr B won’t have a look in edgeways until the Waratahs game on Saturday night! I use to live in Sydney and miss food/wine desperately! First stop, dinner tomorrow night at Chiswick, Woollahra – if we can get a seat!

I’m sure all of you lucky ducks who live in Sydney have been here – I hear good things. I wasn’t able to reserve a table online, hoping to just ‘turn up’ tomorrow night and get a table – happy to stand if need be! Don’t these images look fantastic (from their site here).

We’re also squeezing in coffee with a girlfriend at Central Baking Deopt:

Yum Cha, shopping at Bondi Junction and of course Doug up on Bouke:

Any other recommendations for new drinks / food places in Sydney?

    UM LIKE A MILLION.

    Barrio Chino (modern mexican)
    Bourke St Bakery (obvs)
Try to catch one of the two food trucks that drive around, they announce where they are on Twitter and Facebook: Cantina Mobil and EatArtTruck
Din Tai Fung (noodles and dumplings)
El Loco (relaxed pub fun mexican)
Kitchen by Mike (cafe attached to awesome design store)
    See the Vivid Light Walk.

    Have fun!
