Liberty: behind the scenes of a designer

8 Aug

As a graphic designer, I love the thought of creating my own fabric design. Have experimented in the past, but have only ended up in the scrap pile, certainly nothing I could wear with pride! I saw this ‘behind the scenes’ You Tube video of Liberty’s textile designers. Such an amazing insight to see the process, and some of the fabulous new range.

Liberty have also released a range of ulphostery fabrics – the same beautiful prints, only on a heavier fabric to withstand the daily use as furniture so happens to encounter.

I love Liberty but have previously found the fabric prints to be too soft to use on furniture. They have obviously listened to their customers and now we can decorate with a heavier fabric. Now, to choose a print for my chair…

I do not love everything Liberty, but some of their prints are totally fabulous, and it’s easy to see why they are where they are. Now if I could actually afford some of those upholstery fabrics….. !
